Basic understanding of the shape and craftsmanship of iron boxes

Tinplate boxes and tin cans, also called tin-plated iron boxes, are tin box packaging products made of tinplate sheets. They are widely used in the packaging field. Their shape classification and process types are also relatively rich. Common classifications and processes are as follows:

1. The common shapes of iron boxes are:

Rectangle, square, circle, special shape, pictogram, oval, egg shape

2. Common technological types of iron cans

1. Two-piece metal cans with heaven and earth cover

2. Square/round tinplate cans with gong bottom

3. Square/round tin cans with buckle bottom

4. Bottom buckle/bottom square/round metal cans

5. Shrink-bottom tinplate cans

6. Barge/shoulder three-piece metal cans

7. Iron box with hinged flip lid

8. Push-pull metal box

9. Portable iron box

If classified by its usage, metal cans can be classified :

1. Aerosol cans---Aerosol cans are divided into aluminum cans and iron cans. According to the shape, they are divided into straight cans and necked cans;

2. Chemical tankssquare tanks, round tanks, and convenience barrel series;

3. Milk powder cans;

4. Beverage cans;

5. Miscellaneous cans ---- (non-standard cans), moon cake tin boxes, candy tins, stationery boxes, biscuit tins, CD tin boxes, liquor tins, etc.

If classified by its structure,metal cans can be divided into:

1. Welding tank;

2. Bone jar;

3. Stretch tank;

4. Two-piece cans;

5. Three-piece cans, etc.

If classified by its shape, metal cans can be divided into:

Rectangular tin cans, square tin cans, triangular tin cans, octagonal tin cans, oval tin cans, heart-shaped tins, special-shaped tins, car-shaped tin boxes, book-shaped tin boxes, etc.

3. Printing method of metal canister / tin cans

The raw material for producing tin boxes is tinplate. The first step in making tin boxes is how to print the pattern on the tinplate. Nowadays, most iron boxes are printed with exquisite patterns, so that the iron boxes not only play a role in food preservation, but also have a decorative appearance. The tinplate printing process is completed on the iron printing production line.

The iron printing production line generally consists of a feeding device, an offset printing unit, a coating unit, a drying room, a film retracting device and other equipment.

Tinplate printing relies on the roller to transfer it to the surface of the iron sheet through the principle of ink balance under the action of appropriate printing pressure.

Printing processes include white porcelain, white ink, spot color, four-color and other printing processes.

1. Four colors of white ink + varnish: The difference between white porcelain and white ink is that white ink can see the iron texture on the iron box, and it does not print in parts, showing the true color of the iron.

2. Four colors of white porcelain + varnish: The entire can body of white porcelain is fully printed, and no iron lines can be seen.

Choice of can-shaped technology, including embossing, embossing, hollowing, surface UV, printing and other processes.

The design and selection of the tinplate cans structure, the lid structure of the top and bottom lid, hinged lid, and the bottom structure of the tin box such as stretch cans, buckle bottom cans and gong bottom cans can all be selected according to the product.

The surface of the tinplate box has been oiled, which is the last process of printing. After the tinplate is printed, a layer of surface protective oil needs to be applied to increase the scratch resistance of the printed iron (tinplate after printing), and also increase a certain hardness so that the printing surface coating has a certain degree of flexibility and corrosion resistance. Different surface protective oils will give the iron box a different look and feel.

Oil tinplate iron boxes are generally divided into: varnish, matte oil, gold oil, transparent oil, crack oil, pearl oil, explosion oil, partial matte oil, overall matte oil, etc. Each oil has its own characteristics. Different effects bring different visual effects to people. The clever use of oil on the surface of the iron box can bring more attention to the iron box.

Tinplate boxes can also produce the effect of cracked stripes, commonly known as the effect of explosive oil in the packaging industry, explosive oil with three-dimensional surface texture, rubber oil, pearl oil, over-printed varnish, pearlescent oil, flash silver oil, silver Other special effects such as magnetic oil are available. If you want the tin box packaging to be more elegant, highlight the characteristics of the product, attract consumers' attention and stimulate consumption, then you should pay attention to more details when making the tin box.

The characteristics of various inks are as follows:

Varnish: It has good color retention performance, can improve the brightness of printing colors and make the iron box more glossy, which is in line with consumers' traditional aesthetic habits.

Matt oil: makes the surface of the printed iron matte, has a paper texture, and has an elegant decorative effect.

Over-gloss printing: You can also use a layer of varnish on the printing iron to partially print matte oil. The difference in gloss and touch can highlight key information through contrast.

Explosive oil: makes the surface of the printed iron have a layer of irregular explosive patterns, in the shape of crystal-clear scales. The reflection of light makes the exquisite printed pattern full of three-dimensionality, with a rustling feeling, and sometimes there is a color-changing effect, which is very ornamental. sex.

Pearlescent oil: Gives the surface of the iron box a sheen like small water droplets, making the printed graphics and text bright and bright.

Orange peel oil: It will give the printed iron a corresponding touch, a bit like the texture on the surface of orange peel.

Rubber oil: After using this oil, it feels soft to the touch and no longer feels like iron.

1. Which requirements are used for white ink and white porcelain printing of iron box packaging? In the graphic design of tin boxes, some customers require that parts of

the product need to have a metallic luster, which is what we often call the iron-through process. This partially iron-through process requires the use of white ink during

the printing process of the tin box. . Where iron penetration is not required, white ink is printed as a base.

2. White porcelain can only be printed in full page. The white porcelain printing process generally involves laying a layer of white primer on the iron sheet, and then

printing the document on it. The color of the iron itself cannot be seen, and the effect is brighter. The choice of process mainly depends on the effect of the design draft.

In terms of cost, white ink printing on iron boxes is much higher than white porcelain printing, and the white color of white ink is darker than white porcelain.

3. In the printing process of tinplate boxes and iron cans, the drying of ink is a complex physical and chemical reaction process. There are many factors that affect

drying, so to control the drying speed of ink and ensure product quality, you must master the physical and chemical mechanisms of ink drying, that is, the factors

that affect the drying speed, in order to effectively carry out fast iron printing operations.

4. The iron-through printing process of the tin box can better show the metallic color of the tinplate itself, and the color of the formed tin box will be brighter. The color of the tin box formed by white porcelain printing process is relatively stable, and the metallic luster of the tinplate itself cannot be seen.

5. Through-iron printing has its unique advantages, but it also has inevitable drawbacks. Iron boxes formed by the through-iron printing process are prone to

scratches and oil loss, so not all iron boxes are suitable for through-iron printing. Before printing, the tin box factory must follow the customer's planning content and

theme and select the most appropriate printing process in order to create the most suitable tin box packaging.
